The Off-Limits Rule

The book really picked up in the last third. I didn't necessarily care for Lucy for a lot of the book. Most times, especially in the first half, I forgot she was a mom. She also acted much more like a teenager than a 27 year-old. I do think there was some character development towards the end.

Really interesting read, could not put down! I would add the last star if it wasn’t so repetitive. I’m further interested in the rest of the series!

2.5 stars. Very Short. I read it to prove to my brother that it doesn’t take a whole 5 minutes to read.

I enjoyed the parts about Dewey. Some of the history about Spencer, Iowa and the author was interesting and helped tell Dewey's story, but other parts left me wanting to get back to hearing about Dewey. The book did make me think of Browser.

Really good book. Love the relationship between Oscar and his stepfather during the last part of the book. I really like Jenny and Bruno. Although I felt like it got pretty dark for a book recommended for kids around 8 and 10. I would probably say this book is better for kids 11 or 12 and older.
